Clitheroe
Grand Prix – Wednesday 2 August
The
Clitheroe Grand Prix was a new highlight in the British Cycling
National Elite Series last year, even featuring on BBC TV!,
and this year was no let down. Despite the wet weather earlier
in the day, several thousand spectators saw a wonderful display
of power riding from top young star Ben Greenwood.
The fully-closed circuit of just less than 1 kilometre, around
the town centre one-way system, with twists and towns around
this historic centre against the backdrop of the famous Castle.
It makes for intersting racing, with a combination of fast
and widecorners, tight turns, and climbs adding to the interest!
